Ground and Norm of Morality is a college textbook in general ethics. It is not meant only for those who are philosophy majors. Technical philosophical terms are not used, except those that a college student might be expected to know from one or two other basic college philosophy subjects usually required, such as that on philosophy of man. On the other hand, effort was exerted to present the subject matter honestly in all its difficulty, avoiding the temptation of simplifying or watering down things to a point where they no longer show themselves for what they truly are. This book concentrates on the general principles of ethics. The second volume is still in preparation, is intended to discuss applied ethics, or the application of the general principles to concrete human life.
