Retrieving the Past: A Memoir

A revolutionist’s memoir, Retrieving the Past recounts a life in scholarship, activism, and the ongoing struggle for peace and democracy, covering Joel Rocamora’s humble roots in Larena, Siquijor, his years of living and working on and beyond Philippine soil, and the COVID-19 pandemic and his assessment of  the future. More than a personal account, Retrieving the Past provides a vantage point to understand activism in the decades during and after martial law, and serves as, in Rocamora’s own words, “social history, using my life as illustration.”
