Laksamana'’s (1877-–1966) first and only novel on the Filipino society during the last decade of the nineteenth century. “This novel will help . . . those who did not live to the days mentioned, . . . give a nostalgic recollection of the period of mournful Filipinoness,” according to the author. He particularly offered this novel to the youth.
